Doggie Daycare

I am officially a dog sitter, I got approved and I can’t wait to start!

I found this website while scrolling through Facebook and thought it looked interesting. I made an account, created a profile, and got approved. (Below is my link and it will get you $10 off your first booking if you have a pet that needs playing with while you are at work, school or anywhere else for a period of time) I love animals and am really looking forward to getting requests for me to watch people’s pets. Not only dogs are considered for daycare, cats, birds, and I believe rodents (guinea pigs, hamsters, etc.) are also welcome.

If you or a friend have a pet and are planning to either go away for a night or just for a shopping spree and need someone to stop by and feed/walk your/their furry friend, please keep me in mind! 🙂

What A Weekend

This past weekend was CRAZY! I spent it with someone I have known since I was five. She was fifteen at the time and my babysitter.  Her name is Tez. Boy, does time fly! Anyway, I went to her house in LA for the weekend and we packed so much stuff into the weekend. I meet her and her super sweet dogs, Saint and Butters, in La Habra Friday after class and we went to a yoga class that night. Tez is really into yoga and she also teaches! It was a really good class and I had no idea how much I needed the stretching/cracking aspect of it. After the class, we had dinner at the studio made my the yoga teacher. It was really good and much needed after the three hour class.

Saturday was great as well. We gardened, relaxed, and then went to the LA Fair. Tez asked me on Friday night what I wanted to do Saturday night. My answer, JAKE OWEN! We looked up tickets and fortunately there were some available!! We bought them and I was SO EXCITED! We drove to the fair Saturday afternoon about 3pm. We walked around, ate fair food, and waited till show time.

We found our seats and chatted with the people sitting by us. Once the lights went off everyone went crazy, including me. I LOVE country music, it makes me feel good and I love the accents and artists. I found out that Jake Owen was performing about a month ago. I really wanted to go, but didn’t have anyone go with or anyway of getting there. I was so thankful to be able to go! Words cannot describe how much I loved it! Parmalee opened up first and they were really good. I know three of their songs and was so happy when they came on. Those first few notes of the songs I knew just filled me up with happiness. After their performance it was time for the amazing, attractive, talented Jake Owen! He came on stage and flashed that smile that just made me melt. He is SO good looking! I have loved his music for a long time and sang along happily. After the concert, Tez and I continued to walk around the fair before going back to her house.

Sunday was another yoga day. This time with a different teacher, Tez! It was at the La Habra Heights Park; a place I have been going to for about 14 years. I use to go there for Music in The Park, horse shows, and just for fun. It was really great to go back to the city I grew up in. After the yoga class, we went to her parent’s house to swim and relax. Her parents live on the street I used to live on, so driving up that street, brought back so many memories. We passed the “Gingerbread” house, the place where the goats were, the Jacaranda tree street, and Macy school. All things that have some kind of meaning to me. I was happy to go back up to LHH, but was not looking forward to seeing my old house. Thankfully, we didn’t drive that far, so I didn’t have to get emotional seeing all the changes that have been done to the house.

All in all, it was a fun, exciting, memorable weekend. Thank you, Tez, for having me!

Gotta Love Stressful Mornings

This morning was probably one of the most stressful morning I’ve had in a while. I had an 8am class and, don’t ask me how it happened because I honestly have no idea, I woke up at 7:40am. I don;t remember hearing or turning off my alarm and I have no idea how I slept through it or how I woke up when I did. Thankfully, it was still early enough so I DID make it to class. I grabbed the dress that was hanging on the doorknob, put my contacts in, grabbed a power-bar and ran out the door and across the street. I am SO lucky I live so close to campus. I literally ran to class and made it right on time!

I then had my other class which went normally because I was already on campus so didn’t have to worry. By the way, in my opinion, a Salted Caramel Mocha does not taste as good as it sounds…unfortunately.

After my Oceanography class, I came home, banged out my homework that is due later today, ate lunch, and now I am getting ready to go back to campus for my next class.

I am having dinner with one of my friends after class tonight and I am really looking forward to seeing her and catching up on all that’s been going on.

After that it is back home to study for my Human Development exam that is tomorrow. That class is both interesting and disturbing at the same time. More on that tomorrow. 🙂

“Decisions, Decisions…Ahh”

I spend more time than I should looking up things, some important and some not as much. For example, the important things I’ve been searching are Summer Programs for Fashion and Halloween.

My dad found one fashion program that would consist of me learning from a real “fashionista.” I would prefer to go to either London or Italy, as they are two of the “fashion capitals”of the world. I would love to travel and learn about fashion, especially if I can get credit for the classes since I am majoring in Fashion.

As for Halloween. It is my FAVORITE holiday after my birthday. I love the idea of dressing up, as you may know if you follow me on Instagram and see my Disney outfits. I have seen so many stores with decorations as well as YouTube videos of people decorating and getting their costumes. It makes me want to join the club. I know I am not having a Halloween party this year and I have no “real” need to decorate, but it’s fun. (I’m not going to, but I want to). As for costumes, I wanted to be a cupcake, but Party City does not have the costume in stock right now. I don’t know if they will get it later, but I have other options. The Queen of Hearts, female version of Batman, or R2D2. I was thinking more Disney characters, but I don’t want to go to Disneyland dressed up like everyone else. I AM MY OWN PERSON! I will technically “copy” someone else with whatever I do anyway, but still.

Which do you think is best?

Scares and Saves

Yesterday, I got this pop-up on my computer that really worried me. It wouldn’t go away and there was no “exit” button. There was a number that I called though. I was told I had to pay to fix “problem.” I turned off Wi-FI all last night and didn’t use the computer much. This morning, I called Apple Support and this super nice lady talked to me and walked me through the process of checking my computer. Turns out the guy I called was a scam and he just wanted money. Thank goodness I didn’t give him any! Now, my computer is fixed and working perfectly again. And apparently, Safari is the best web browser because it has safety things that protect from virus and scams unlike Chrome. The Apple lady told me NOT to use Chrome because of this issue. Interesting…Anyway, I’m so happy the problem is fixed and I can continue using my computer!

In about 15-20 minutes I am going to the Pacific Islander Festival in Huntington Beach with my friend. There will be food, music, dancers, and more. I am really excited to go and see what comes from all the islands. (Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa…)

Back in the “Swing” of Things

Last night I went to the South Coast Martial Arts Center and attended the Tahitian Dance Cardio class. Within the first 30min of class I was dripping with sweat. I haven’t sweat that much in a LONG time; it was amazing! I am so glad I found this place. They have regular Tahitian Dance classes as well as the cardio and they also have gymnastics. The Tahitian and Gymnastics are both on Wednesday nights, so I am going tomorrow to check them out.

I love dancing and I am so happy to be back in the “swing” of things! and I am looking forward to Tahitian and Gymnastics tomorrow!

Halloween’s almost here!

Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday for many reasons:

  1. Costumes, this is the one night when you can be who/whatever you want and no one will judge you because they will be dressed up too.
  2. CANDY! Enough said:)
  3. Parties. Halloween is an excuse to either have or go to a party, so hopefully I get invited to one this year!
  4. Disneyland. (Somehow this topic always comes up) Disneyland goes all out for Halloween and Christmas. The decorations are amazing and they even close down rides in advance to get them decorated for the holiday season.

Now, because I love Halloween so much, I have already picked out my costume. I looked up Party City online to see if they had it and it was on sale! I walked three miles, to and from, Party City to find out that they don’t have it in stock right now…at least I got some exercise. I am a little upset because I wanted it in advance so I know I will have it in time and because it was on sale. The guy said to check in at another time because they don’t have everything in the back in order yet. He said they may have it in another box, but wasn’t 100% sure. I will wait a few weeks, call them and ask if they have it, and then go in and hope to get it on the sale price because I really want this costume!

What will you be for Halloween?

Practice Makes Perfect!

I looked up gymnastics places around Costa Mesa and I found one! It’s called South Coast Martial Arts. They have gymnastics, Tahitian Dance, Boxing, Martial Arts, etc. OMG! I emailed them about adult classes and haven’t gotten a reply; it has been only about 30 minutes so it’s ok. Anyway, I was looking at pictures and videos on Pinterest of gymnastics and stretches and stuff and thought I would take some pictures of my “skills.” I’m not perfect, but I think they look pretty good for someone who hasn’t done gymnastics since she was 13.

Never Done Before

Today was an interesting day. Here’s why, I had my normal Tues/Thurs classes today which consisted of English and Oceanography and then I had my Oceanography Lab (Thurs only). Before the lab started (like 30 min before) the power went out, we thought it was because everyone was using the A/C cause it’s SO hot! Apparently not. In the beginning, many classes were cancelled. Mine however, was not cancelled right away. We had a substitute and he said he could teach us without power. Turns out it is a law that schools have to be cancelled after some time due to a power outage. So, class got cancelled and I went home. Thankfully I did my homework though (as I always do) because we turned it in and he said he would use it to tell the professor who was in class today.

Since I was able to be home early, I studied for tomorrow. I have my first college exam! It’s in Human Development and I think I am ready! We are learning about interesting things so I like it and want to do well. Hopefully I do!

After studying for a while, I went out to dinner with one of my friends from OCC. We went to Balboa Island to a restaurant called Ciao. I had swordfish for the first time ever! Who knew I would order, eat, and really enjoy swordfish!?!?

Back to studying, wish me good luck!

Flexibility and Strength

So, the 2016 Summer Olympics are approaching and I am so excited! The gymnastics, swimming, and horseback riding are my favorite olympic sports! Gymnastics because I like to watch them and wish I could be that flexible, horseback riding because I love horses, and swimming because hello, three words…SHIRTLESS, FIT GUYS!!

I love watching girls gymnastics videos year round because it keeps my attention and is amazing what these girls can do. Like, holy moly ravioli! I was watching this video today while eating dinner and OMG. It’s crazy how flexible and strong these young girls are. And what do I do after watching these videos? Feel weak and inflexible, get up, and practice/stretch. I use to be more flexible, and with no fault but my own lost a lot of it when I stopped gymnastics and lost more of it when I left AD and don’t dance in a class anymore. So, to try to get my brain thinking, “I can do this!” I got off my chair, put my hands on the floor, and kicked my legs up to see how long I can hold my handstand. Pretty long actually. I also tried to do that thing where the girls are in a handstand and their feet come down to their face from the front. (Contortionist stuff) I am happy to say, I can do it against the wall. I am also happy to say I can still/finally do my backbend standing up and I have my splits almost all the way, my left leg is way better!

I hope I can get back into dance and gymnastics someday soon. Tap is fun for many reasons, but flexibility is not one of them. I’m thinking about doing pilates and/or conditioning next semester. Fingers crossed!
