Chores

Now that I live on my own, I am forced to do things I, sorry to say, have either never or have rarely done. These include things like laundry, cooking, dishes, vacuuming, throw away the trash, and keeping my apartment clean along with other things. None of these are necessarily difficult and I actually find some of them soothing. Washing dishes, for instance, is fun when there is loud music playing. Taking out the trash has always been the WORST chore EVER, and now that I am the only one living in the apartment, the responsibility is all mine. Which, when you throw away mostly papers and the occasional fruit rinds, it’s not all that bad.

As for school, my chores include homework, studying, and organizing my binders and such. Today, I bought my 3-ring binders, because my 2-ring binders from Abu Dhabi are not good enough, a 3-hole punch, play-dough, because my Human Development teacher told us to (I’m not complaining), and tape, regular and double sided because I LOVE tape!

On another note, not about chores, I did something yesterday that I haven’t done in about two weeks: I WENT TO DISNEYLAND! I missed it. I have to make up for those five years of not going.  🙂

Anyway, tomorrow I have to figure out how to add a class and how to talk with a counselor. Wish me good luck!!

I’m a College Kid!

A lot has happened since I left Abu Dhabi on August 5. I spent a week in Montreal/Vermont with a high school friend and then I flew to LAX to meet back up with my parents. Within two weeks, I got an apartment, registered for classes, and went to Disneyland.

Now, August 28, 2015, I have completed my first week of college at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. I am taking English, Oceanography, Tap dancing, and Human Development. I really enjoy my classes and even made a few new friends, one of which I am going with to Disneyland tonight. (I will almost never turn down a Disneyland invitation).

I rented/ordered and received two of my books and am debating on either renting the third to going to the library and scanning all 16 chapters.

But for now, I am going to relax and enjoy my first weekend of the semester!
