What A Weekend

This past weekend was CRAZY! I spent it with someone I have known since I was five. She was fifteen at the time and my babysitter.  Her name is Tez. Boy, does time fly! Anyway, I went to her house in LA for the weekend and we packed so much stuff into the weekend. I meet her and her super sweet dogs, Saint and Butters, in La Habra Friday after class and we went to a yoga class that night. Tez is really into yoga and she also teaches! It was a really good class and I had no idea how much I needed the stretching/cracking aspect of it. After the class, we had dinner at the studio made my the yoga teacher. It was really good and much needed after the three hour class.

Saturday was great as well. We gardened, relaxed, and then went to the LA Fair. Tez asked me on Friday night what I wanted to do Saturday night. My answer, JAKE OWEN! We looked up tickets and fortunately there were some available!! We bought them and I was SO EXCITED! We drove to the fair Saturday afternoon about 3pm. We walked around, ate fair food, and waited till show time.

We found our seats and chatted with the people sitting by us. Once the lights went off everyone went crazy, including me. I LOVE country music, it makes me feel good and I love the accents and artists. I found out that Jake Owen was performing about a month ago. I really wanted to go, but didn’t have anyone go with or anyway of getting there. I was so thankful to be able to go! Words cannot describe how much I loved it! Parmalee opened up first and they were really good. I know three of their songs and was so happy when they came on. Those first few notes of the songs I knew just filled me up with happiness. After their performance it was time for the amazing, attractive, talented Jake Owen! He came on stage and flashed that smile that just made me melt. He is SO good looking! I have loved his music for a long time and sang along happily. After the concert, Tez and I continued to walk around the fair before going back to her house.

Sunday was another yoga day. This time with a different teacher, Tez! It was at the La Habra Heights Park; a place I have been going to for about 14 years. I use to go there for Music in The Park, horse shows, and just for fun. It was really great to go back to the city I grew up in. After the yoga class, we went to her parent’s house to swim and relax. Her parents live on the street I used to live on, so driving up that street, brought back so many memories. We passed the “Gingerbread” house, the place where the goats were, the Jacaranda tree street, and Macy school. All things that have some kind of meaning to me. I was happy to go back up to LHH, but was not looking forward to seeing my old house. Thankfully, we didn’t drive that far, so I didn’t have to get emotional seeing all the changes that have been done to the house.

All in all, it was a fun, exciting, memorable weekend. Thank you, Tez, for having me!

Toujours,

Tara
