I got accepted to France!

Year Abroad? Here is how I did it.

I wanted to go to France for a year because I love French and I love Europe. I have been to Europe twice and I love it there. I have taken two years of French at school and also heard my mom talk to me in French since I was little. I always heard about year abroad and wanted to try it. I asked my parents if I could go and with a lot of negotiation, they agreed.

I looked up programs with the help of my dad and found the perfect one, CIEE. This program great because they offer the most and the people who work there are very nice and helpful. I applied for my Junior year, filled out the application, and sent it in.

I waited for a few weeks and finally for an email. “Congratulations, you’ve been accepted.” I got in! I wanted it and I got it. I am so excited. All I need to do is a phone call interview and I am going to school in France. This is so amazing.

Tomorrow, I am going to call the woman from CIEE and have a conversation with her (in English) about why I want to go to France and what I think it will do for me. I will tell her I want to go because I want to learn how to read, write, and speak in French. I also want to learn about the culture. Going to France will be an amazing adventure for me and I am thankful I got accepted. “You can’t win if you don’t enter.” More news tomorrow!
