First Day of School

Thursday was my first day of school. It was a half day and the last day of the school week. Weeks here are from Sunday-Thursday. I met some girls in my grade and they were by “buddies.” They took me to my classes. It is a block schedule, so 4 classes a day. Yesterday, I had Geometry, History, and French 3. Sunday is the next school day for me. Weird right? It is a full day, so the classes are 85 minutes each plus breaks.

I really want this to be great! I want to make friends and really prove that I have what it takes!!

What’s going on

I’m starting back up again with this blog now that I’m in my new home. The other day, I went to the American Community School, ACS, for an interview and testing. The tests went well and so did the interview.

The next day I went back with my mom and we talked to the principal of the school. After the conversation, they both agreed to accept. I GOT IN!!!

I got my schedule, a tour of the school, and I start on Thursday. I am really excited and a little nervous. Today I am getting school supplies. It’s my last free day!!!

Why I’m In Abu Dhabi Already

At the end of the first semester, there was another problem. I didn’t talk much in class, so my participation grades were not good. I ended up on Academic Probation for not integrating with the other students. That was strike two, strike one was a warning that I had to talk more. Strike three was at my birthday party. I had some friends over for a sleepover and there was one rule I was to follow. Unfortunately, that was the rule I broke. The next day, there was a discussion about what had happened. Another day passed and my local coordinator came over one evening. She told me that I disqualified from the program and that I was to go back with my parents.

Living in France for 5 months, I did learn a lot. I am not fluent in French, but I can carry on a conversation. I learned life lessons during these 5 months. The life lessons that I learned were be more open with new people by starting conversations, follow the rules, and don’t try to change people before changing myself.

New Adventure

I haven’t written in a while because there have been a lot of things going on. I am not in France anymore, because something went wrong. I am now living in Abu Dhabi with my parents.

I am really excited to start this new adventure in Abu Dhabi. I’ll go to school, meet people, and learn new things.

That’s all I have to say right now.

PARTY TIME!

So, I just wrote this whole entry in French then it deleted automatically. So annoying!! Since that made me annoyed, it’s not in English.

So today was a good day and I think it’s because my socks didn’t match. I was just happy! Heard some bad news, but got over it.

After school, I went to the doctor to get permission for gym. He listened to my heartbeat and checked my pulse, then I did 20 squats and he checked my pulse again. PERFECT!!

This evening, I rearranged the living room, for tomorrow night, with my host mom. Tomorrow we are going to make the cake and in the afternoon, my friend is coming over to help with other things. I can’t believe tomorrow night is my birthday party and Wednesday is my birthday. 17 years old AHHH!!!!

SUPER EXCITED!!

L’école aujourd’hui

Dans la classe d’espagnol aujourd’hui, le professeur said “sin embargo” et je thought of mon père, Mark. That is his mot préféré en espagnol. J’ai regardé mom papier et said “rétine.” Elle told moi to parle plus fort next time.

Apres science, it was maths…about une heur et vingt à cinq minutes.

Donc, there are no clocks in any of the classrooms.

Application for Abu Dhabi

En classe d’anglais d’aujourd’hui, nous avons to think of quelque chose de bizarre qui happened to us.

VEET!

Getting Better

I was really upset yesterday, first day back at school, without my buddy. I knew after a while it would be better but at that moment…
I had 3 hours of French then I ate lunch with a friend from my class.
After lunch was dance…that is NOT dance…my group’s idea is smacking the floor in a beat.
I talked to my SES teacher after class and cleared things up with her.
After school, I went to gymnastics with Camille. I am now officially a gymnast again!! In pain today but it will be worth is when my flexibility comes back.
