It’s raining men!!

Alors, aujourd’hui it rained. Not un peu, mais beaucoup, all jour actually. It was TRÈS froid!!!!! Like FREEZING!!! Je wore mon manteau à l’école et was still froid!

Je ne sais pas quand it is about France, mais there are beaucoup de good looking guys!! Like OMG!

Je might go avec Viva or avec Marine. Je ne sais pas encore.

It’s late maintenant et je suis fatigué. Bonne nuit!!

Today…

So it’s late again…which means ENGLISH!!!

So today at school, i went to all my classes and stuff and after school I meet my LC with Viva and Carolin to talk about school. She and I also talked about my life at the house here. All turned out great!!

Back at the house, I talked to Marine for a while and figured some things out. I will have about 1 hour each night to talk with her about anything in English. The rest of the time at home its French. That works!

At the dinner table tonight the conversation was seals!!! Or should I say phoques!!! Even after dinner Marine and I were talking about it. Phoque phoque phoque!!!!!

Anyway, I’m going to go to bed soon, laterz!!!

A Little Extra

Last night at dinner, I laughed so hard I almost fell over. My host mother is an artist and she goes to painting classes. The painting she did today was on the counter and it was of frogs, flowers, and. lilypads. I asked Olivier how to say “lilypad” in French, but he thought I said “it’s really bad.” For about 10 minutes after that he was talking about how the painting was really bad. I asked him what he was talking about and he said “Isn’t that what you said?” I said, “No, I asked how to say lilypad.” He didn’t know that word in English so after I explained what it was in the painting, everyone else at the table said what it was. (I can’t remember what it was right now) It was SOO funny!!!!

Shopping!!!

Aujourd’hui was “picture day” for our lunch cards. Apparently, j’étais the only one who didn’t know about this. En line, je quickly re-did mes cheveux et took off ma veste and scarf. (I waited too long to type this so the rest is going to be in English)

Thankfully, it was Wednesday, which meant it we got out at 12:25pm instead of 5pm. So, I was in Section Européenne today, it’s a class in English about UK history. It doesn’t help me in French, but I was asked to do a presentation about life in Hawai’i and France and how it’s different. (I guess I’m staying in this class) After Euro, it was Science and English. Only 4 classes on Wednesdays! In Science, I was asked to read one of the questions out loud…in French. This might have been either because I was writing something and the teacher thought I wasn’t paying attention, or because I am here to learn French and this would be a good way to help me. Either way, I read it with the help of Alix. I found out that when I read on command, my American accent really shows.

In English class, we had 5 minutes to ask the teacher questions about himself. One of the questions, I guess, was “what color if your underwear?” I didn’t really hear it when it was asked, but I heard laughter. After a few minutes I heard what it was and started laughing too. Now I know that my English teacher plays the bass guitar, likes to swim, is 42 years old, has 3 boys, is married to a women called Jasmine, and likes mountain biking. Ok then…

Back to the past…yesterday I learned how to say “seal” in French. It’s phoque. I just thought that was funny!!! So now I can say “Oh phoque” and whoever doesn’t read this will think I’m saying something else. 🙂

After school, I went shopping with Marine to get shower stuff, long sleeve shirts, jumpers, and shoes. I came home with shower stuff, one long sleeve shirt, and a magazine that is in French. Instead of taking 30 minutes-an hour to read, this one will take me longer. A good way to learn more words and phrases though!

Anyway, bed time. Night!

L’école aujourd’hui

Dans la classe d’espagnol aujourd’hui, le professeur said “sin embargo” et je thought of mon père, Mark. That is his mot préféré en espagnol.

J’ai regardé mom papier et said “rétine.” Elle told moi to parle plus fort next time.

Apres science, it was maths…about une heur et vingt à cinq minutes.

Donc, there are no clocks in any of the classrooms. Cette gives us permission to regarder our téléphones…just saying. Anyway, je vais au lit maintenant parce eue j’ai to wake up early tomorrow pour l’école. Night!

L’école aujourd’hui et un SHOUT OUT!

Aujourd’hui, je suis allé à l’arrêt de bus alone parce qui mon host méré took mon host péré à travailler. J’ai marché à l’arrêt de bus singing Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Getting Back Together.” While je was singing, les vaches were regarder à moi.

À l’école, je suis allé à tous mes cours je usually go to. Quand je suis allé à mon Litt. Étrangere classe, le professeur asked moi pourqui je was there. Je told her that je didn’t know où aller. Je vais Science et Maths classes instead of this Anglais class maintenant.

Je was asked to correct someone’s Anglais devoirs aujourd’hui. Parce que je suis une bonne personne, je said “oui” Je will not do that pour everyone!!! Je veux to ask mon Anglais professeur to aider moi avec français if il asks moi to aider le class avec Anglais. It’s only fair!

SHOUT OUT:
Je suis making a shout out à Oncle David.

Je just ended a Skype call with Jake! Nous avons parlé about how je suis adjusting ici and stuff. Even though nous didn’t video, his voice….je can’t even! lol

More later,
~Tara

ps. Oh well…moving on!

Road trip (in Anglais)

Today I went on a little 1.5 hour road trip to Vannes with my host parents. We met my host mothers granddaughter, Jeanne, there and walked around for a few hours after our picnic of rice salad, bread, crepes, and juice. Jeanne pointed out the fashionable shops and told me the best ones for the best prices. After our exploration, we were going to drive Jeanne back to her house in Vannes, then drive back to Laille, where we live. When we were all in the car and ready to go something happened…the battery was dead, the car wouldn’t start. We walked around some more to see if time would help. It did for a few minutes, but after about 20 min we had to call a tow-truck. The tow-truck came and took the car and my host father called a taxi. In the meantime, Jeanne started walking home. It is a 30 min walk so she got a head start. After about 30 min, the taxi came. I watched the meter and every 2 seconds the price went up by 10 cents. By 7pm it was 82.60€. We got in the taxi at 6:40ish. It was 100€ at 7:03. By the time we got home, it was 267.10€. Wow!! Thats $341.25! Now I know, never take a taxi in France.

More later,

Field Trip

Aujourd’hui je suis allé à le Parliament of Brittany in Rennes avec ma Français class. Ma ami Alix picked moi up from ma maison (her mom drove) et nous went to rendez-vous avec the others. Is très intéressant. Nous aussi saw museums et le Planétarium. Je had a great time! Apres nous were done, Alix’s parents drove us back. Nous dropped Alix off at the cirque et she meet up avec Alice, Morgen, et Thèo. Je wished je could have gone, mais je didn’t have permission at the time. Nous drove past another cirque et nous saw the lions in the cages!!

It will be froid mais je want to go! Je vais to try to learn plus mots français.

Talk to you later!

Cirque

It’s super last so this blog entry is going to be in english because it’s easier to type fast. So At school today I went across the street with my friends and saw the “setting up” process of a circus. There were llamas, camels, horses, Shetland ponies, and monkeys. We asked one of the guys who was working there if we could pet the animals and he said yes, but only certain ones. I pet a llama, the Shetland ponies, the horse (before he told us not to), and a monkey. I’ve always wanted a little monkey and getting to pet one today was really cool!! After we got back to school, and after History class, I went to Science class. I went to listen to the words, it was a different Science then the other day so I didn’t have a book, which means…no homework!!! (: Anyway, school was good today and tomorrow I’m going show shopping and on a “field trip” with my French class to Rennes. (the city) We are going to go to museums and stuff. I really want to go to the circus tomorrow but I don’t think I will be back in time. I guess seeing the animals today was good enough. Marine told me that we would go to a huge circus instead of the little one. I am really excited to learn about the museums tomorrow with my French friends! It’s going to be really cool!! I’ll let you know the details tomorrow. Talk to you later!

Why the ABC’s

Ce matin je was sitting in the “lounge” room avec Alix, Alice, Wonton, et some other people. Ma Disneyland Luggage tag on ma sac struck up a conversation avec Wonton. Too bad je ne comprends pas beaucoup de français o that would have been a très bon conversation!!
Donc, à l’école aujourd’hui je went à maths class to hear it. Pourqui est le ABC’s involved in Maths?? That makes it très difficile!!!

Apres je was à la maison pour a few minutes, ma LC came over to talk to ma host family et moi. Elle a parlé avec moi about how je suis adjusting ici. It was a trè bon conversation.

Talk to you later!
